My thoughts: I received this book through Voracious Readers in return for my honest opinion and had not realised it was part of a series, so in that respect can be read as a standalone.

This book is full of twists and turns many of which are unexpected. Tess the main female character is flawed, negative and depressive, but unsurprising given what she has been through. The storyline as it unfolded was believable and I found myself wondering who I would have believed if I was in the same situation. A wondrous psychological thriller.
