The letter J has proven to be a tricky one in my A to Z reading challenge. While some letters seem to overflow with options, books beginning with the letter J has only provided me with a handful of books to explore. In this post, I’ll share the three books I’ve read that start with J. Although it’s a small collection so far, I’m excited to have them in my library and look forward to adding more titles to this list as my reading journey continues.

My Thoughts: The Journey Continues by Sara Ann Key is the 2nd book I have read by the author the first being The Journey and although they can read independently, I strongly advise that you read both as they are like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that fit together.
I am not sure everyone reads the preface of a book, but I always do, and the words written strongly resonated with me and they definitely set the tone with reasons in a profound way.
As I read through The Journey Continues the words felt honest and raw but also heart warming and deeply insightful, and you could tell the author had put her heart and soul into the book, which enabled me to connect with what Sara Ann Key was talking about on an emotional level.
My favourite quote was ‘The most important relationship we have is with ourselves. Belief in ourselves, self-confidence, self-awareness, self-reliance, self esteem and self-love.
What makes "The Journey Continues" a must read is Sara Ann Key's commitment to authenticity. She bares her soul on the pages of this memoir, which allowed me to connect with her on a deeply personal level. In a world filled with superficiality, Key's vulnerability is a refreshing reminder of the beauty found in embracing one's true self.
In conclusion, "The Journey Continues" is full of introspection and self-discovery. Sara Ann Key's memoir is not just a book; it is an experience that has the power to change lives. Through her honest storytelling, Key reminded me of the importance of acknowledging our own spirit and embracing the journey of self-discovery. This is a book that deserves to be savoured, cherished, and shared, a great read in every sense of the word.

My Thoughts: Jurassic Jemma and The Mysteries of Time is the second book in the Jurassic Jemma series and a mystery crime novel. Having read and enjoyed the first book, I was really looking forward to this one—and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint!
Delaney’s writing flows at a great pace, keeping me fully engaged in the world of Jemma Thorne and the stunning Jurassic Coast. The characters feel so real, with their day-to-day lives woven seamlessly into the central mystery. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the story alive and kicking, which made it impossible for me to put the book down. I love that you get to know and love characters when there is a series of books
I’ll admit, I didn’t agree with some of Jemma’s choices along the way, but honestly, that just shows how much I was invested in her story and what happened to her.
If you’re a fan of mysteries with well-drawn characters and a setting that’s practically a character in itself, this series is well worth reading. I can’t wait to see where Jemma’s adventures take her next!

My Thoughts: Jurassic Jemma and The Trail of Evil is the third book in the Jurassic Jemma series. While part of an ongoing series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Falling into the crime thriller and mystery genre, this instalment delivers a gripping narrative with familiar characters for those who have read the previous books.
The pacing is steady, and the characters—some I’ve come to love, others I loathe—are well-developed. The main protagonist remains a formidable force, driving the story forward. While I missed the fossil-related themes and Jurassic Coastline elements that featured more prominently in earlier books, the drama and suspense more than made up for it. As the plot unfolds, the pace intensifies, keeping the reader engaged right until the end.
Overall, Jurassic Jemma and The Trail of Evil is a solid addition to the series. While I would have liked more of the geological themes, the book’s compelling storyline and well-crafted tension make it a worthwhile read for crime thriller fans.
While the letter J has been a challenge, I’m happy to have these three books to refer to in my growing A to Z library. I’ll definitely be adding more books to this list as time goes on, and I’m excited to see which other titles I’ll come across in the future.
